Does carpet repair have a value on resale of my home?

For re-stretches, do I have to move the furniture out?
For the best possible outcome, the room needs to be empty. It will save time and money. When anyone puts a new carpet in, it needs to be stretched both ways and the same with re-stretching. This can only be done with the furniture out of the room. Our team are pretty creative though! So if some of the furniture needs to stay in, we can do our best to work around it!

Does my furniture need to be moved?
The best stretch is accomplished when rooms are cleared of furniture. With this being said, it is not always necessary or possible to move all furniture. Oftentimes, shifting the furniture in the room is all that is required to do the repairs. We make use of furniture sliders in order to do this in the easiest and most efficient manner possible.  With that being said if we can have any smaller items, valuable or breakables removed from the area that is greatly appreciated.

Should I get my carpet cleaned before or after I get the carpet restretched?
We strongly recommend getting your carpets cleaned after.  Oftentimes the dirt will collect on the ripples. When the ripples are stretched out, there may be a darker shadow from where that dirt has collected.   As well depending on the type of carpet, the carpet may have stress marks from sitting in a rippled state for so long. Vaccumming may return the carpet to its pre-rippled state, but a good steam cleaning will solve both of these issues.

Why in your pictures does there still appear to be some wrinkling?
The reason for this is not because the carpet still has wrinkles, but because the carpet needs to be steam cleaned.  It is usually always a good idea to get your carpets professionally steam cleaned after we do a re-stretch.  Oftentimes the dirt will collect on the ripples. If seams need to be re-done, will they be invisible?
The CRI 105-2002 Standard for Residential Carpet Installation guide states: “Visibility of the seams will vary with the type of carpet purchased. Customers should not be led to believe that seams will be invisible.”

What if my carpet is delaminated?
Sometimes, after carpet that has been rippled for too long, the backing seperates from the top layer of carpet. In these instances the carpet may be able to be repaired, but in some extreme circumstance, it may not be possible to get the carpet stretched properly.

How do you fix a hole in the carpet?
There are reasons why you keep extra pieces of your carpet somewhere in your home. It’s for repairing holes and other types of damage. You call them patches, but in the carpet repair industry a “patch” is called a “permanent section.” We skillfully remove the damaged part of your carpet and replace it with a permanent section, so it looks as if it’s been there all along. Tip: Don’t store carpet remnants in your attic or garage. The heat quickly ruins the carpet, making it unsuitable for repairs.
