Our cleaning process
We clean all types of area and oriental rugs in our work shop. Oriental rugs require more skill and expertise than cleaning of normal carpet. Our rug cleaning specialists are fully trained and they possess the knowledge, skill, and experience to ensure that your rugs are cleaned properly and thoroughly to protect its appearance and value. We have several different cleaning methods available to us and our technicians are equipped to advise you on the best method for your individual cleaning needs. Although best results are achieved when rugs are cleaned in our plant, we also offer in-home services when the option of bringing the rug into our workshop is not available. We also work with other professionals who can evaluate your rug’s value and condition and make the repairs necessary to protect and improve your rug’s value.
Step 1: Pre-Inspection and Pick Up
We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the best cleaning method and expected results. A technician will come to your home to pick up your rug, or you may drop it by our workshop.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal
Woven rugs, especially hand knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. We use a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 5: Shampoo
Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils. Most rugs are cleaned with an oriental rug shampoo that is especially designed to get maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive natural fibers.
Step 6: Rinse or Wash
Depending on the type of rug it will be rinsed with extraction equipment on both sides
Step 7: Speed Dry
Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry on the sun
Step 8: Finishing
When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Step 9: Post Inspection and Delivery
Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick up or delivery. Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you.

It takes between 4 to 7 business days, depending on the rug and the particular repair and cleaning being done.
Do I need to remove furniture off my area rugs prior to arrival?
We will gladly move most furniture pieces to safely retrieve your rug; however, some particularly heavy pieces, such as pool tables need to be moved prior to our arrival. We also request you remove all small breakable items from the tops of all furniture that will need to be moved.
I am moving. Can you deliver my area rug to a new address?
Yes. We can deliver to your new address as long as it is in our service area.
Do you sell rug pads?
Yes. We do sell rug pads that we can customize to fit your area rug.
How often should I clean my area rug?
The time frame for cleaning a rug depends on how much traffic it gets. We recommend professional rug cleaning be performed every 1-3 years. If there are pets, smokers, or people with respiratory illnesses in your home, area rug cleaning should be performed more often.
Do you guarantee pet odor removal?
It really depends on the condition of the rug. More often than not, we are able to remove all pet odors. We do not 100% guarantee pet or stain removal.
Do you guarantee stain removal?
If a stain has not affected the fibers permanently, we have a much higher chance of removing it. Please call us as soon as you notice the stain since taking care of it as early as possible increases our chance of success.
Is my rug even worth cleaning?
That is a personal decision depending on your emotional attachment, if any, to the rug and the replacement value of the rug. Many people design a whole room around their Oriental rug and replacing it could require refurnishing the entire room. It may be cheaper to repair and clean the rug. We will be happy to give you a professional estimate for cleaning and necessary repairs to help you make an informed decision.
The tag on my rug says dry clean only….. Is your method safe?
There are many factors to consider when professionally cleaning an Oriental rug. We inspect your rug carefully to determine what method is safe to use. Our area rug cleaning technicians are trained and experienced to handle your investment properly.
Can you remove all the urine from my area rug?
Although we can remove all the urine and pet waste from the rug by cleaning it thoroughly, the stain and odor may still be present.
What can I do if I have a flood or water damage on my area rug?
If the rug is not dried properly and completely, the cotton foundation may become weak and rot as a result. Mold and bacteria may also thrive in such a damp environment. It is best to have the area rug professionally cleaned and dried.
Do you just have one method of cleaning area rugs?
Every rug we clean gets a complete evaluation to determine the condition of the rug and the type of fiber and dyes used in its construction. We customize our specialty area rug cleaning process to fit each rug individually.
My Oriental rug has been in a fire. Can you remove the soot and odor?
We have been successful in removing soot and fire odor in most cases. However, we can not guarantee that we can do it 100% of the time.
Do you clean hooked rugs?
Yes. These are colorful yarn rugs hooked by hand with cotton or jute cloth backing.
Do you clean silk rugs?
Yes. Silk rugs are lovely tightly woven and elaborately detailed works of art.
What is moth repellant?
We apply a colorless, odorless protective coating on the area rug that moth and their larvae do not like to eat. It is 100% child and pet safe.
What is fiber protector? How will it help my area rug?
Fiber protector retards soiling and helps prevents stains from becoming permanent. It is child and pet safe and is non toxic. As an added bonus, it has a natural fresh scent.
